Slumdog Millionaire

A Mumbai teen grew up in a slum, obviously, we can figure out what he will be in the rest of his life. He may become a worker, beggar, or even the worst－a criminal. However, he does not influenced by his surroundings or the entire society. Then, he goes to jeopardy because of a girl he is deeply in love. Everyone is laughing at him behind his back. When he finally got a chance to win the championship, he was accused of cheating on the game show. No one believes that a small fry like him can figure out the correct answer to those difficult questions. People are thinking that “How in the world he could get so much money?! He is just a small potato! It’s sheer luck!” Nevertheless, wisdom is nothing to do with our identity. This is no doubt for those people who grow up in the same area. It’s the real description for them. The man has seen much of his life.

Through the whole story, we can learn that there are some social issues need to be solved in India, especially for the teens who live in slums. The children don’t have money to go to school; moreover, it’s hard for them to feed themselves. Every year, about two hundred million people suffer from hunger. Most of them died of hunger or disease. Although the government is trying to make improvements, it’s not enough. I think if we pay more attention to this distant country, this situation will be changed. Maybe someday people in India don’t have to worry about the food, and the children can receive education. I hope it will come true in the near future.

Life

Recently, I saw a movie called “Bucket List”. The story is about two different old men to pursuit the meaning of life. The story starts when Cole and Carter meet each other. Cole is a billionaire and is always busy making money. He never considers about what is the most important thing in his life. As for Carter, he wants to pursuit his dreams and plans. But he has to face the reality. He has to raise a big family. Gradually, his dream list is nothing but a bitter memory. It stands for countless chances that he lost. However, something happened in their life. Doctors found a cancer on their body. It just like a wake-up call to remind them to pursue the values of life. They spend some time to figure out what they really possess and what they are going to do for the rest of their life. Although they come from different background, they quickly found that they have something in common. First, they don’t understand themselves and don’t know their choice in life is right or not. Second, both of them would like to complete their plans that they never done before in the rest of life. From then on, their life list is no longer a pipe dream, but a real plan that is ready to carry out. They are chasing their dreams with passion.

There are many things happen and not really be expected and accepted. Someone said” We may live, we may die, but the wheels on the bus go round and round.” There are many changes about life.

What we can do is to live in life to its fullest. Sometimes, life needs a deadline, and it makes us to bring out the ability to change our life. Just like they said “You only live once, so why not go out in style?”
